Stonewall Lodge No. 6 was organized in 1866 and was
the oldest lodge consisting of 27 charter members. Within a few years its membership
numbered over 300. During the 1930s it merged with Carolina Lodge No. 9 and became known as Stonewall-Carolina Lodge No. 6.
Carolina Lodge No. 9 was organized in 1878 and soon
had over 300 members. It prospered well into the 1930s at which point its membership began to weaken. Carolina Lodge No. 9
merged with Stonewall Lodge No. 6 and became known as Stonewall-Carolina Lodge No. 6.
Calhoun lodge no. 23 doesnt have many records remaining
as most were either lost or never preserved. However, there is some information that refers to the year 1885 in the books
of the Master of Exchequer. The membership number of over 200 was recorded.
Von Moltke lodge no.66 was organized in 1892 with 25
charter members of German descent. In 1914 when World War I began between Germany and other countries, it was deemed wise
to alter its name since it was named in honor of a great German general, Von Moltke. The lodge was named Jasper Lodge No.
66 after the Fort Moultrie hero and eventually reached a total of almost 400 members.
In 1965 Stonewall-Carolina Lodge No. 6 merged with Jasper
Lodge No. 66 and became Stonewall-Jasper Lodge No. 6 as its known today.
