Brother Matthew Amerson is back from his 10 month long deployment to Iraq and Kuwait. We are all overjoyed that (M) Sgt Matthew Amerson has rejoined his lodge brothers and is safe and sound. Brother Matt is a member of both Stonewall-Jasper Lodge#6 and Sinbad Temple #96. He has served almost two decades in the United States Air Force. This was his third deployment in Iraq in as many years.

CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA PYTHIAN FAMILY SUPPORTS VETERANS!

On September 20, 2007, Stonewall-Jasper Lodge #6 voted to make a $100.00 cash donation to Veterans Victory House Nursing Home in Walterboro, SC. In addition, Grand Chancellor Jesse Bryant matched the Lodge donation by a $100.00 donation and Supreme Representative Sir Bruce H. Brown added $20.00 to the total. The total cash donation was brought to $220.00. The Lodge, in conjunction with Sinbad Temple #96 (DOKK), also donated 7 wheelchairs, 5 walkers and three bedside commodes. The hospital equipment had been collected by the Lodge and Dramatic Order of Knights of Khorassan Sinbad Temple #96. The Pythian Sisters' Elizabeth Temple #2 donated some toiletries and some hats as well.
The Nursing center is a non-profit facility for United States Veterans, it is only one of two in South Carolina and one of only a few hundred in the United States. Secretary of Stonewall-Jasper Lodge #6, Patrick C. Labbe, works at the facility as the Educational Services Specialist. Brother Labbe presented the check to Executive Director Lee-Ann Newton on Friday morning the 21st in front of the new Bird avery. The money will be used to provide "extras" like bird avaries, fish tanks and activities material. Donations may be made in the name of the Knights of Pythias to:

Elloree ( SC)

Rathbone Bible Class

On March 1st, South Carolina held it’s Annual Rathbone Bible Class. Three brothers were brought into our Order during the day long event. The event saw participants from four Lodges: Stonewall-Jasper Lodge, Elloree Lodge, Morgan Lodge and Myrtle Lodge. We were also honored with the presence of Past Imperial Prince Sir Ed Friday from the Charlotte, North Carolina area. The new brothers are: Henry Hicks of Stonewall-Jasper Lodge, William Hobbs of Morgan Lodge and John Singh of Elloree Lodge. It is of interest to note that Brother Henry Hicks came to join the Lodge through the Charleston Shag Club.

Brother John Singh who is now a member of Elloree Lodge is the Town Administrator of the town of Elloree.

The 2007 Lodge Christmas Party was held on December 2nd, 2007 and was a smashing success. It included a visit from Santa! With HIS RED FIRE TRUCK! Turnout was the largest ever with over 100 adults and children. Thanks go to the committees from the Lodge, the Pythian Sisters and the DOKK Temple!
